Little Heart of Gratitude
It’s been a while since I posted something here, and today, I’d like to share a very short yet loving message I heard from my eldest daughter that truly uplifted my spirit as a mother and homemaker.
Fridays are always the busiest day for me. It’s the day I schedule all the household cleaning—on top of homeschooling, cooking, and taking care of the girls. The morning starts with breakfast, devotion, homeschooling, and then cleaning. I let the girls help in any way they can—wiping furniture, cleaning windows, vacuuming floors, and so on. Fridays usually leave me with back pain, so after a whole day of work, I grab a cup of tea and rest for a while.
One Friday, as I was seated and applying some healing cream to relieve my back pain, my eldest daughter said something that brought me more relief than the cream in my hand. She simply said, “Thank you, Nanay, for cleaning the house.”
That simple word of appreciation filled my heart with joy. She knows I love keeping a clean house because it’s one of the ways I express my love for them as a mother. Her words were so genuine and full of love. I praise the Lord that she sees and values the love and work I pour into our family. I couldn’t thank God enough for that moment. He knows exactly how to remind me that there is glory in every little thing I do as a keeper at home.
He gives, and He enables. Praise the Lord!
In everything, give thanks… - I Thes. 5:18a
