Short book review

Image
Homeschooling with a Meek and Quiet Spirit is a great book that addresses the things that steal the meek and quiet spirit of every wife, offering both biblical and practical ways to overcome them. It is helpful not only for homeschooling moms, but for every Christian woman. The key verse that taught me how to maintain a meek and quiet spirit is found in 2 Corinthians 10:5: “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.” T his verse reminded me that cultivating a meek and quiet spirit begins in the heart and mind. It is essential that we are saved and that we daily choose to live according to the principles of God’s Word, allowing Him to train our thoughts and actions so that everything we do is for His glory.

My God is a Provider!

My heart is so full now that we’ve entered the “-ber” months. The weather has turned cooler —  perfect for outdoor activities with my kids. We’ve always enjoyed our morning walks and playtime, but I love it even more when we can stay outside longer. The gentle breeze makes the sun feel lighter. Oh, how I thank the Lord for His creation! Truly, His handiwork speaks of who He is. This morning, we went for a stroll and did a little activity together. The girls delighted in decorating a drawing’s hair with leaves and flowers. Here’s how it turned out. As we walked, we saw the mountains overlooking our home. We heard the birds singing, watched dragonflies dart about, saw butterflies and even millipedes, and watched cows grazing under the sun—so many simple yet wonderful sights. All these blessings—and Christ, too?! Truly, Jehovah-jireh! What a joy to know that He not only created all these things, but also gave us eyes to see, ears to hear, and the health to experience His gl...

A home to reflect His glory

T he Lord has been so good to us in giving our family a home. Back in 2019, when my husband and I got married, we rented a small two-bedroom house and began praying for a place of our own. Two years later, the Lord graciously provided for us to start building. We always envisioned a home that was cozy and practical for our daily routines, with children in mind. More than that, we longed for it to be a constant reflection of God’s grace and goodness. My husband worked diligently—from planning and designing to overseeing every detail of construction. Then, in 2023, the Lord granted exactly what we had dreamed of. He has been so kind to bless us with a home where we can raise our children. Every time I look at it, I see His gracious hand. Without Him, none of this would have been possible. One of my favorite parts of our house is our little library. It holds our study books, piano, play area, and homeschooling corner. I especially love that from the kitchen I can see into the l...

Flying a kite with the kids!

Image
It was such a joyful afternoon for our family yesterday! We finally had the chance to fly a kite in the windy weather. The past few weeks had been so rainy that we could barely go outside, so I’m truly thankful we were able to enjoy the outdoors again and appreciate God’s creation. My husband came along and took care of everything kite-related. He taught the girls how to hold the kite and get it flying. It was a wonderful moment for all of us as we watched it soar high in the sky. The girls were so amazed! It was also a meaningful experience for my eldest, who’s currently learning about God’s creation—specifically the sky and the wind. We even spotted a small, beautiful flower. I’m not sure what it’s called, but it looked so pretty! Here’s a photo of it: I’m so grateful for this special afternoon of bonding, especially since a storm is forecasted in the coming days. Thankful for who God is!  Bless the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, thou art very great; thou art clothe...

Another year!

I can’t help but thank the Lord for blessing my sweet Tabitha with another year of life. Exactly two years ago, I was lying in a hospital bed, enduring labor pains and waiting for her arrival. Now, she’s walking, talking, and doing so many things on her own. As she grows, her personality shines through more and more. She’s sweet and silly—just as a child should be! She gets along well with her sister (well, most of the time!), and she loves to sing, read books, and talk—a lot! She also loves to share and brings so much joy to our entire family. As a birthday gift, we gave her books about Kipper—her favorite dog character. She absolutely loved them, and we sat down together to read. What a wonderful time it was! My girls are such precious gifts, and I thank the Lord every day for the blessing of being their mother. I am truly blessed by my daughters. Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. - Psalm 127:3

Morning Reflection

Every morning feels different in its own special way. Today, we took a walk under a cloudy sky. My eldest was hesitant at first, thinking it might rain, but we decided to go anyway. She rode her bike while I pushed my youngest in her stroller. Thankfully, the rain held off. After our usual morning routine and schoolwork, we brought out the paints. Both of them did so well with their little masterpieces. Here are some of their artworks: I love watching them use their small hands—hands that God lovingly gave them. I can’t help but wonder how they’ll use those same hands for His glory as they grow up. As they painted, the rain finally came down. I smiled, realizing I didn’t have to water the plants myself. The Lord did it for me. And just like that, I was reminded: there are so many things God carries for me—things I could never bear alone. My salvation, my struggles, the burdens of life—He does the heavy lifting. Each day can hold a simple but powerful realization like this...

Slow mornings, how I love!

Thankful to God for this morning. My girls found their own spots in the house to read some books while I did the dishes. That’s how they start their mornings, and I just love how fond they are of reading. It allows me to get things done without having to worry about what they’re up to. I’m praying they continue to love reading—especially the Bible, the book God has given us. It is the most important book of all, and the only one that can truly change a person’s life and eternity. So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void,  but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.  -Isaiah 55:11
