Another year!

I can’t help but thank the Lord for blessing my sweet Tabitha with another year of life. Exactly two years ago, I was lying in a hospital bed, enduring labor pains and waiting for her arrival. Now, she’s walking, talking, and doing so many things on her own. As she grows, her personality shines through more and more. She’s sweet and silly—just as a child should be! She gets along well with her sister (well, most of the time!), and she loves to sing, read books, and talk—a lot! She also loves to share and brings so much joy to our entire family. As a birthday gift, we gave her books about Kipper—her favorite dog character. She absolutely loved them, and we sat down together to read. What a wonderful time it was! My girls are such precious gifts, and I thank the Lord every day for the blessing of being their mother. I am truly blessed by my daughters. Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. - Psalm 127:3

Morning Reflection

Every morning feels different in its own special way. Today, we took a walk under a cloudy sky. My eldest was hesitant at first, thinking it might rain, but we decided to go anyway. She rode her bike while I pushed my youngest in her stroller. Thankfully, the rain held off. After our usual morning routine and schoolwork, we brought out the paints. Both of them did so well with their little masterpieces. Here are some of their artworks: I love watching them use their small hands—hands that God lovingly gave them. I can’t help but wonder how they’ll use those same hands for His glory as they grow up. As they painted, the rain finally came down. I smiled, realizing I didn’t have to water the plants myself. The Lord did it for me. And just like that, I was reminded: there are so many things God carries for me—things I could never bear alone. My salvation, my struggles, the burdens of life—He does the heavy lifting. Each day can hold a simple but powerful realization like this...

Slow mornings, how I love!

Thankful to God for this morning. My girls found their own spots in the house to read some books while I did the dishes. That’s how they start their mornings, and I just love how fond they are of reading. It allows me to get things done without having to worry about what they’re up to. I’m praying they continue to love reading—especially the Bible, the book God has given us. It is the most important book of all, and the only one that can truly change a person’s life and eternity. So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void,  but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.  -Isaiah 55:11
