Wives as partakers of Christ’s sufferings
Another day, another opportunity to show how loving my God is! Today, I’m especially thankful for God’s correcting Word. While attending Bible seminary this afternoon, the Lord spoke to me through Peter’s first epistle about godly submission, particularly in the context of the suffering that godly wives may experience.
Honestly, I’ve struggled to submit wholeheartedly to my husband. From the beginning of our marriage, I’ve known that it is God’s will for me to submit to him in all things. Yet, there have been times when I’ve appeared submissive outwardly, while my heart was not in full agreement.
Today, the Scriptures pierced my heart and called me to change—not just in behavior, but in spirit. God is teaching me to submit with both my heart and mind, regardless of circumstances. As I share in Christ’s sufferings in this area, I know my flesh will continue to resist. That’s why prayer and meditation on God’s Word are essential—they equip and transform me from the inside out.
Peter reminds us to adorn ourselves not with outward things, but with the inner beauty of a meek and quiet spirit. True transformation begins within. It won’t be easy, but the reward is truly remarkable!
…which is in the sight of God of great price.
1 Peter 3:4
